The Cities Wrapped Around Our Bodies (TCWAOB e.V.) is a transversal organization. TCWAOB is founded on the recognition that cultural production occurs within a web of political pressures, working conditions, displacements, and fragile structures of belonging. As a strategic alliance anchored in Berlin, TCWAOB explores and implements infrastructures of solidarity and cross-collaboration. TCWAOB develops tools and builds and sustains global networks, particularly fostering partnerships between collaborators from different disciplines and regions, especially between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and Europe and the rest of the world.
TCWAOB is founded by a group of artists, researchers, journalists, activists, curators, technologists and designers, and emerges from this community. Founding members are Adam Broomberg, Neço Celik, Rick Gerardus, Hamed Soleimanzadeh, Hanieh Kord Kazemi, Samin Mosavi, Lisa Nossek, Muhammad Salah Abdulaziz, Yashar Shirdel and Giulia Valenti. Members are Rand Abou-Fakher, Qusay Awad, Dhia Douss, Fatima Karimova, Mohammad Nezhad, Abhishek Nilamber and Jad Salfiti.
